Car accidents rank as one of the worst experiences for people who have been involved in one. Although it’s easy to panic, you should keep a level head and deal with the situation. These are steps you should immediately take after a West Virginia collision.
Get to safety
Check for injuries and remain at the scene. If your vehicle is immovable, leave it where it is; keeping yourself and your passengers safe should always be the first priority.

Call 911 for help

You and the other driver should exchange names, contact information and anything related to your vehicles, licenses and auto insurance. While you do this, you should also make note of the other driver’s vehicle, including the make and model, color and approximate year. Taking photos of the vehicles and scene is helpful as well. Don’t make conversation other than to obtain information.
Get witnesses’ names and contact information in case you need their testimony later. Recording their statements can also help your case.
